no but using quality parts and rating correctly would be nice, a long time ago hifonics put out good products, now mostly low quility

I know you praise Hifonics, but sorry, they do not put out rated power.

So, since I know you're going to argue about how I am wrong, explain to me how I could have gone from a BXi1210D to an AQ 1200D and the AQ be much much louder at 2 ohm. Especially considering the Hifonics was rated at 900W at 2 ohm and the AQ was rated at a lesser 870W.

Oh, and consider this: the AQ draws much more current than the Hifonics considering it has 120 amps of fusing and the Hifonics only has 80. So nope, you can't argue saying "current draw is greater with the Hifonics, you'll see rated at 14.4v" lol.

Hifonics Brutus amps don't do rated.

How do you know this? Have you personally bench tested these brand new amplifiers?

I don't care if they're over rated- they still put out more reliable power per dollar than most other amps, even if it is below rated. Also, the Brutus amps from 08 and up have been pretty spot-on with the ratings.

They are very reliable amps and can take a lot of abuse. They are great for those new into CA. But the power they put out is questionable imo.

The Audioque is 21 cents per watt.

Also, there are what... like four companies that still rate at 12v? Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of rating at 12 volts because rating at 14 volts is somewhat deceptive.But even your beloved AQ1200D is rated at 14v.

I follow you. And I'm not arguing that they are bad amps! But rate them for 1000W if that is the power they output...

I bought my Hifonics expecting it to be 900W @ 2 and 1200W @ 1 at the beginning of last summer when I was unfamiliar with brands such as those that I run today. If I would have known what I was buying, (if I was buying a "1010D", instead of a 1210D), this wouldn't be an issue. I'd rather pay the extra $0.04/watt to actually get the power I need out of the amp.

I know that the AQ is rated for 14v. The difference is that they actually do rated power at the same 14v that the Hifonics Brutus amps are rated for.

people can hate on hifonics but they are good for the money. I was hitting 144s on music with a hifonics titan 1508d and one sub stock electrical. my current amp, which is still under "maxxonics" is the gp3kpro and it's a beast.
