im gettin either 2 new brahma 15" or 2 xxx 15" for christmas

i will be running a jbl 1200.1 to each sub

do u think that this will be a sufficient amount of power for these subs...ive been rold it is def enough for a brahma but have had mixed responses to whether or not it is enough for an xxx

also can u give me the optimal box sizes and tuning for a ported box for 2 brahmas or 2 xxx's?

please let me know asap so i can order these thanks

the difference between the barhma is minimal. Id say flip a coin. The xxx is a tad bit louder but the brahma has a tad bit SQ. personally id go for the 2 XXXs but they dont really kick in unless you got 1400+ watts on it.

1400 watts!?

That can't be true, dude. The 2 subs are really similar, I don't see how one would be that much louder than the other, given a specific wattage.

Brahma:

Application - 15"

Sealed Car 1.25 to 2.5 cubic feet

Vented Car 2 to 3.5 cubic feet tuned to 28 Hz

XXX:

Application - 15"

Sealed Car 2 cubic feet

Vented Car 4 cubic feet tuned to 27 Hz

Keep in mind if you're using a big, ported box, you won't need more than 600 watts to each driver.

ive heard people saying to build boxes for xxx closer to at least 5 cubes per sub to make it louder...is there any truth to that or should i just stick with what the site suggests for the sub?

and does anyone else have any thoughts about the amps being enough to power the xxx because i keep getting mixed opinions

thanks

It really all depends.

If you're planning on comping, think about the freq's your using.. Everday listening, full excursion can be reached with a wattage parallel to the size of your box, and again the freq's.

I have my Brahma in a 4.5cu' box tuned to 38Hz with 1200-1400w going to it. Gets hella loud and maintains awsome SQ. I have ports to tune it to 30Hz but to me it sounds fine like it is so I just leave it....pluse I like the way it makes my kidneys feel:)

I would say that with two of either of these subs you will need 6-7cu'
