I would not know...But to add on to your post if you don't mind...Has there ever been a HU to come out (none of the off brand stuff) that has actually been able to support .FLAC files natively?

I don't think so most brands skipped flac and went straight to mp3s

What source do you have that can use FLAC but not WAV?

False, we did end up building it. It is currently used for two purposes. One is as a torture device by subjecting terrorists to insane levels of SPL. The second use is that they strapped a giant ***** to it and use it on all of us before we deploy so that we get used to being f*cked before we get over here. true story
