Netflix to quit carrying hddvd

just got an email saying netflix will stop having new hd dvds and will slowly quit sending out the ones they have
it might be safe to say hddvd is done

if this is a repost excuse me, I'm on my phone and can't search
how many people actually use that stuff? When I want to rent a movie I go to the store. When I want to watch a movie, I want to watch it now...not in a couple days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I don't think netflix alone will put an end to the hd/bluray battle.

Yeah Blueray is going to win. HD DVD is like beta. Blueray is VCR. Which one do you still have?

I was even a HDDVD fan...oh well. I don't care either way since I haven't bought anything yet.

Blueray already won, Long long ago when consumers chose it over HD *LOL* In this day and age with massive online communication, it makes it a lot harder for companies to just declair a winner when consumers are not backing the product. Like Betamax, consumers backed it, the **** desk jockies said "you get VHS"

i like bluray because it doesnt have "dvd" in it so it is better. when i think of hddvd i think it hasnt improved much over regular dvd, thus bluray is much better
Interesting...

So if they were to have named it HDVF (High Def Video Format) or HDSGYWSYP (High Def So Good You Will Shit Your Pants) or HD-GOD you might have been more accepting to the format?

I'm not saying this is stupid or dumb or unimportant, but I wonder if a lot of people think/feel that way.

Indeed... And I feel you about the price thing...

I have BR and only buy movies I guess I know I really really want instead of just "hey that is a good movie"

A lot of people use it...I use BB online, and it's great...for $18/month, I get unlimited rentals online, and I can bring those to my local BB for free in-store rentals...all in all, I can rent a good 25 movies a month.

That is a lot of movies to watch...
