Negatives of installing amp under front seat?

I've had many different amps under my seats and never had problems with any of them. As long as they are secured well and have space for ventilation you'll be fine. Especially with a class D amp. The only bad thing is longer speaker wire to the trunk, but you also save with shorter RCA cables and power wire.

The only negative I can see about a longer speaker wire is more chances to short, but if you loom the wire to give it extra protection this shouldn't be a big deal. Plus speaker wire is usually smaller than power wire, so having the amp under the seat would save the power wires and RCA as you said. With smaller power wires it would cost less to run the power wires, usaully large power wires should cost more per foot than speaker wires. Also power wires are at 12 volts where as speaker wires should run at higher voltage, with the higher voltage of the speaker wire it would break through the resistance easier than the lower voltage power wire. The only other downside would be lack of clearance in certain vehicles may cause. Which would be bad if a passenger moves the seat without realizing that there is an amplifier beneath the seat, again if there is little to none clearance.
