Need help with CD player!!!!

Here's the situation.. I have an alpine 7870 cd player..It has only rear output on it. I have and alpine g190 subwoofer processor.. I'm not getting any sound from my speakers..I'm using a rockford 501 for my mids... But can I use the rear output to go into the input of the eq? The lights are flashing like it's picking up the signal but no sound is coming out...Please help me...

rear out would go to the EQ BUT THEN to an amp, if you dont have an amp i would say no. where does your system loose the sound? you say the EQ is flashing?
