When it comes to Head units. Pioneer, alpine, and kenwoods are really the only brands you should look at. Everything else is chinese terrible crap. Some would argue newer sony is okay...bah to that nonsense. Why are you trying to go for a double din? I personally dont like anything too showy. Also many touch screens dont have a volume knob, which means when you want to turn the vol +/-, you have to press vol up/vol down button on the screen abunch of times. Thats such a hugee hassle. Sometimes you need to turn down the music quick and a volume knob is so much more useful. Seems like your budget is pretty good. Have you considered an Pioneer 80prs? 5volt pre out. Super clean. it is THE sound quality head unit. Its a single din and its effing gorgeous. you can get one for 250(if your lucky)-300.
