need help burning DVD

im trying to burn an AVI file to DVD. so far, ive encoded the file into an m2v file.. now i need to extract the audio from the AVI and author it to DVD. the problem is, the audio from the AVI is MP3 and when i try to use tmpgenc dvd author to join the m2v file and mp3 as a DVD it says the audio stream is the incorrect format.. its gotta be .ac3 or .mp2 or linear PCM. anyone know how i can convert the mp3 to any of those formats???

ok ive gone through videohelp.com and couldnt find any answer. ive got the streams correctly.. but now theyre too big. the video file is 4.3 gigs itself.. and the audio stream (wav 44100 khz) is 900 MB. the movie is 1 hour and 28 minutes long.

ok heres the main PROBLEM: i have to encode the file to a smaller sized dvd video file.. how do i do that.. i know that the audio streeam has to take up 900 MB.. so i guess i have to make the video file no bigger than 3.8 GB.. what should i use??

Burning that Family Guy movie, huh? I just downloaded Dvdsanta, converted it and burned it.

Jmac put up a link to the dvd in the original thread, in case youd rather have that.

after hours of trying i finally got to encode the video using winAVI. the video files were only 2 GB total though.. did i lose any quality??

use a program called DivxtoDVD by VSO. It will convert the AVI into DVD format and then will prompt you to put in a DVD and it will use nero or whatever youve got to burn it automatically.

well the quality looks great to me still now that i just finished watching it.. after all, its just a cartoon and i dont see any square bloccs you know what i mean? and jmac you werent online last night so i couldnt get ahold of you. ive added you to my AIM buddy list.
