Speakers really do sound tons better off an amp. I'm not aware of any reason to not mix brands of speakers as long as their RMS is around the same (they will be running off the same power amp). So say the kenwoods are 80 watts RMS, and the Alpines are 85 watts RMS, you should be fine. If you have the room, even 1 10" sub will add to the fullness of the music. With the 6x9's and 6 1/2's youll have a nice low end, but nothing like what a subwoofer can give you. For subs, name what you carry @ your best buy, cause some of them im sure arnt the best... hope that helped..*1500 PC</blockquote>
