Eh, I knew the Mavs didn't have a chance last year either. They couldn't beat the Warriors all year, and GS had the momentum.
As for San Antonio, if there's any way someone can tell me that they were the best team in the league last year, I'd have to commit them to a psych ward.

Spurs have the experience and confidence in the playoffs...something a lot of teams don't have, including the Mavs.

Two years ago mavs beat the spurs in 6. Not to mention when we still had harris(fuck Cuban for trading him), he OWNED parker like none other. We got rid of the best defensive PG in the league that could actually keep up with the likes of Parker and Paul and keep them at bay, forcing other players to beat us...now we're fucked with an old Kidd that can't guard a tree stump.

i already quoted that, you beat the spurs once and CHOKED IN THE FINALS BY LOSING 4 STRAIGHT GAMES TO A WEAK HEAT TEAM, THEN CAME BACK THE NEXT SEASON TO LOSE TO THE 8 SEED WHILE HAVING THE BEST RECORD IN THE LEAGUE, THEN COME BACK IN 2008 TO FIGHT FROM FINISHING LAST.

We were the "oldest" and "slowest" team...we were not considered contenders at all...so much for dallas owning the spurs. if you call us winning rings an owning, own us to a three peat

weak Heat team? Wade had one of the best Finals performances of all time...not to mention they still had Shaq, Rafer, and a whole slew of guys that could drain the 3. No inside presence was what killed us, and we still don't have it. We trade Diop who was our best big man defender, along with our should-be-all-star PG. We're absolutely fucked now, I see no way around it.

Oldest, yes. Slowest, not by a long shot. I think you forgot everyone touting Parker as the quickest man in the NBA? Not to mention Duncan is 7ft and can run the court like a guard. He can't jump worth a shit, but he is VERY mobile up and down the court. Ginobili(sp?) isn't too slow either...

I wouldn't consider Miami a weak team in 2006. A healthy Shaq and Wade are pretty good. They beat a very good Detroit team to get to the finals.

Spurs v Heat and that series would have been ours all the way. give it to mr MVP and he forgets to show up, three years in a row. love seeing the mavs and suns making these huge deals that will plague their salary cap for years to come. good luck dumping kidd or shaq anywhere and goodluck when they want to ride the pine for multimillion dollar years.

I think it would have been some interesting matchups...shaq vs duncan, wade vs ginobili...heat would have had a hard time against parker, but it would have been some REALLY good matchups.
