Ok i have something in the works for an American Bass xd3000, and i want to run a single 15 off of it at 1 ohm or .5 ohms......woofer and coil dependant

I have been looking at the following subs....

NEW:

FI BTL 15" all options

RD Alpha 15"

Massive Audio DMX stg 2

TC sounds 3000 series

USED:

DD 9515

RE-MT

Everyone knows the FI gets loud, and i have heard them in person.....but the other i don't know tons about(but am searching and reading as i ask this). I did see a RE MT with around 8kwatts on it yesterday burping in the 50's on a term-lab so they obviously get loud. One thing about the TC sounds woofer is that they only list it as 1KWRMS, and i would be putting around double that on it obviously.

What i am trying to do.....is have a really really loud daily driver that will put up numbers should i choose to have it metered...... I did a bass race comp. yesterday and hit 136.4 with my two twelves, i don't know what that would meter in a burp, but i want a 15 that gets louder than that......and i would like it to be tuned at 35 or lower. I have room for around 6.5 net cubic foot.

Thanks for any and all advice in advance

Jason

Seems this is a popular topic lately, let me address it again.

A daily system, and a competition SPL system, are generally gonna be 2 different rigs. For example, when you start using large amounts of power, you're gonna need a rack of batteries to help maintain voltage during the burp. Do you really want to buy and pack several large batts in the back of your daily driver?

How about enclosure tuning? Do you want to tune high for greatest output during burps, but sound like *** while playing music daily? Or do you want to tune low for musicality and suffer the loss of output for the comps you want to attend? You could do changeable ports, or removeable boxes, Ive known people that do either. But keep that in mind as you design/consider this system.

A more realistic 'loud daily driver' is a system consisting of more emphasis on more cone area/enclosure volume/port area, and less on sheer power. But this type of system hurts you when it comes time to get into classes at competitions. Everything has its compromises.

Mike Neufeld, thanks for the reply

Audioholic: I really don't see where you had to explain anything. I explained in my original post, what i would be doing with the system what i wanted it tuned to, and even how much airspace i was gonna be putting the 15" sub in. But if you did read it i must not have been clear or something. I understand that there is a compromise.

I already have additonal Batteries in my truck (yes batteries, plural). I feel i made a legitimate post askind peoples opinions of their own subs or subs they had heard pretty much. How come a lot of people on here try and talk down to someone when they ask a question? Would you walk up to someone in person and say exactly what you said above to them in person? "Seems this is a popular topic lately, let me address it again.", is what you said by the way. There are some really good informational posts on here, and i do a lot of reading plus a little posting, but i would probably be a little more inclined to post something if most comments directed toward original posters weren't of the condescending nature.

Since you are explaining stuff today, would you mind telling me how long you have been in the car audio profession.

Jason

PS:

To anyone else, i really appreciate opinions on these subwoofers, especially someone who has owned a tc-300 or RD alpha 15" sub as i can't find many vidoes, or much information on them period.
