myth vs fact

ha i knew it, uneducated idiot who has no real reasons as to why they sound nor knows why, you still never answered my ? about the amp

all i got to say is hooked everything up right and the sound i heard was a farting like nice coming from the subs. then the cone cracked and the voice coils fried and i bought new subs and they sounded great. i'm really only messing with you guys so you don't have to get violent and get your nuts in a knot. i never said i was expert but there is a lot better sounding than sony.

perhaps you were making the woofers do something they couldn't do? everything has a limit...it's like me trying to push the 8 in my truck to 150db then claiming clarion is terrible for not doing it...

farting like nice
You lied! You are drunk!

son of a ***** you caught me, anyways all i was asking the sony subs to do was play 150 watts rms not a big task but hey wow i have nothing else to say right now i'm speechless! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/scared.gif.f134e57c6c93ccd0f15aa5ac32c7d4a0.gif what the hell will i do?

Well if we are talking about the same series woofer, of course the larger sized speaker will have more output with the same motor...
One of my favorites is the myth that a speker that looks superior to another on paper always equates to a better overall driver- no wofoer parameters can take into account a vehicle atmosphere. EVERYTHING changes when the speaker is dropped into a box, and into a vehicle.
Well I mean there is a larger cone area, but if they were to both be freeaired(same enclosure basically) I would think the gain in db wouldn't be by much.

i ran them sonys off a sony xplod amp giving them there recommend power and no matter what i tuned them too they sounded horrible and they finally blew. they lasted for like 6 months and they are not bad budget woofers because they can be bought at walmart cheap but they aint god's gift to caraudio. i don't know about sony HU or coaxials but there amp and subs where terrible and that **** 300 watt rms amp wore out my alt. too. do you work for sony?
Something certainly sounds a miss if your alternator failed specifically due to a 300W load. Most OEM alternators would have little trouble dealing with that type of power. Hence why I mentioned the possibility of user error before.

Otherwise, it sounds like you simply didn't spend enough time tweaking them.

A typical Xplod 12" in a sealed 1ft^3 enclosure crossed over at 60-70 Hz with about 150-300 watts of power to it can sound pretty darn good.

No issues either with their HU's or amps.

In fact, I currently run a Sony CDX-M630 HU in one of my cars. Been using it for over a year now....

I have ran everything from Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, Becker, Panasonic, and the on... The CDX-M630 is certainly one of the better HU's that I have owned.

No, I do not work for Sony. I simply have been involved in Car Audio, and Car Performance for quite a while; and have decent exposure to many products.

If anyone still believe's that amplifiers effect sound in any way, I would love to talk to you about a couple of bridges I have for sale.....
I have honestly been wanting to learn exactly why this is true. I have read way too many home audio threads putting tube amps as god's gift to humanity while anything solid state is lesser. Since, I have been reading your posts for over 2 years now, Zane, can you either elaborate on this (actually, I don't think this site has the bandwidth for that :p) or suggest some reading material?
