myth vs fact

well i'm still pretty dang new to this but when i first looked up some subs i found 2 audiobahn 10s. i almost bid that night when i saw them on ebay for 210 cuz they looked cool and had a lot of output.

I had a set of Audiobahn 12's for about three months and I loved them. :thumbsup It would be a very good investment, but the ones I had needed at least 350 watts from my old alpine amp just to get them moving.

Myth - Zane doesnt have enought time on his hands

I wish the under powring thing could go on like a front page or soemthing

Myth: Ford is better than Chevy, Chevy is better than Ford, Dodge Rules all, Honda is better, Imports vs Domestics, Blah Blah Blah Blah!

Fact: I honestly thought we were all at a point where we were intelligent enough to be past this immature nonsense. Apparently not.

What you drive is what you drive, what you like is what you like. Period.

Who are you, and what authority do you have to force your "opinion" upon anyone else in such a rudimentary mannor?

Fact within a Fact - No one has any factual evidence, nor is any available anywhere, to accurately say that one make/model of vehicle is better or worse than another.

We are all here because we enjoy the same sports- car audio/performance.

What does it really matter what vehicle we enjoy that sport with?

Myth: Rubberized Undercoating is a poor sound deadener.

Fact: - I have two cars to prove otherwise right now.

Rubberized undercoating is a quality, less expensive, means of sound deadening a vehicle.

Some brands are better than others, no arguement there, however, 3M and most other brands of undercoating that you can purchase in an auto-body supply store, work excellent for spraying the backs of interior panels, inside doors, trunks, etc.

They are a little more difficult to use, than their dynamat counterparts, however.

Rubberized Undercoating is messy, you need to mask off anything that you do not want it to come in contact with. Wearing rubber gloves while applying is a plus too.

You will have to allow at least 24 hours of drying time in temperatures above 65 degrees. More time in colder temperatures.

It will have a slight odor for a few days after installation, and a day or two initially when it is hot for the first time. The odor is slight, but present for that short time, then it does go away for good.

Keep fresh air circulating through the interior, and the odor will be eliminated faster.

Basically a little more patience is required with the rubberized undercoating, however, it will harden up to a rubber-like texture and add the necessary weight to interior panels to reduce the bad vibrations. - And for significantly less than the cost of dynamat. Plus, it's generally a whole lot easier to get ahold of!

Myth: Sony Equipment is less than Quality.
Fact: While some Sony products leave some to be desired, they are still built with quality, and with several of their products, an affordable answer to higher priced competitors. Those who say consistantly that "Sony *****" are simply flat out mis-informed idiots, who have no real world consistant experience with Sony Products.

Over the last 9 years I have used various Sony Products with not even a single warranty call necessary. I still have a stack of Sony Gear of various age that works perfectly to prove their value.

Anyone can be a lemming and join the "Sony Hater" crowd, without having much first hand experience with their products, or could use the products for themselves and form their own opinion.

9 years of Sony with no problems pretty much proves their products to me.

Then again, I have consistant experience with Sony over a considerable length of time, and I like them. But what do I know?
MYTH: statement above ^^^^^[

fact: i used to have 2 sony xplod subs because i always heard great thinks about there electronics. there subs ******. i put my thumb on the cone and it cracked. i could blow huge farts out my ass and they would sound better than sony subs.

Opinion. That is all I see.

One could argue that user error was involved in your case.

Fact is, user error is the primary reason equipment fails and for everyone else becoming a lemming.

You always hear 110% and then some of 1 bad experience- likely due to user error in the first place, and you virtually never hear 1% of the satisfied majority.

Considering Sony offer's a minimum of 1 year warranty, and in most cases, more; they stand behind their products quite well.

You have 2 subs and an opinion, and certainly appears to be a largely fabricated story. I have 9 years worth of many Sony Products, and have not yet needed to take advantage of their warranty. Seems that you may have your "Facts" mixed up.

not saying they aren't durable they sound like a giant farting ass. i've hooked up other systems the same as the sony and they sounded better. i would think after 9 years you would've learned better.

I have learned better, thus why I am taking this position on Sony Products...

I previously mentioned that some Sony Products leave a little to be desired, however, that does not instantly make them bad.

Personally, I also think the Mobile Speakers/Woofers area of Sony Needs a little work.

Regardless, what they have out right now in the Xplod line can work quite well.

Any speaker or sub can sound pristine in it's proper environment.

A little tuning via enclosure, positioning, dampening, EQ'ing can work wonders.

If your Sony woofers didn't sound to your liking, why not fine tune them until they did? Yes, it is very possible for a Bright Red Sony Xplod woofer to actually have SQ...

Remarkable Concept isn't it?

Just takes a little experience and applied learning to do so.

Again, you have the learning view slanted in the wrong direction.

i ran them sonys off a sony xplod amp giving them there recommend power and no matter what i tuned them too they sounded horrible and they finally blew. they lasted for like 6 months and they are not bad budget woofers because they can be bought at walmart cheap but they aint god's gift to caraudio. i don't know about sony HU or coaxials but there amp and subs where terrible and that **** 300 watt rms amp wore out my alt. too. do you work for sony?

sony does make a very durable product actually, i have had 4 of their h/u's, 2 being mobile es and 2 x-plod. i sitll have one mobile es in my truck that hasn't let me down, and and xplod sitting in my basement....

The amps also perform very well for the dollar, they put out a little more than their rated power and seem to last...what more could you ask for?

although i do not work for sony or still use sony (in my car), for anyone a tight budget and willing to experiment with boxes sony's woofers can actually do quite well...

your problem sounds more like user error/stupidity more than anything else...or perhaps you just regurgitate what everyone else says.

actually my subs were doing the regurgitating and i've ran lots of other systems before and after this sony one and the sony was by fa the worst. my first system was a 10" jensen that sounded better. the only people who like sony are the suckers who bought and are stuck with it.

right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif funny how you are the only one who has a big prob with it...

user error/ stupididty
