Being able to say that I have never smoked weed before. Everyone at my school has. I wouldn't mind helping my friend sell or get in touch with other people for deals, but as far as smoking, I wouldn't.

Haha would just be lying to myself. If I actually drank and partied then I probably would have ended up smoking, but I don't do either of those things.

That'll change within six months of you going to college, if you're going to a larger university. I knew people in high school who reveled in the fact that they were straight edge more than you or anyone I could possibly know.

Within their first semester of college, two of the five had picked up smoking, they'd all started drinking, and three of them started smoking(weed). At least three of them started taking mushrooms occasionally, as well as ecstasy, and I think one actually started experimenting with heroin.

These were people that would stay in their own group, never talking to anyone else that might have been labeled as anything but straight edge, and if they did talk to other people, it was to look down on them. They would literally hate anyone that didn't conform to their beliefs, man. They were pretty bad.

I'm going to a community college. People at my school now already do all of that. My friends are all basketball players who don't talk to anyone else but our group of friends. Everyone else at my school can go jump off a bridge for all I care.

See? It's nearly the same thing. Once you move on from high school(believe me, almost the instant you graduate, your whole perspective on life changes), and you get out into the real world, you'll realize that all of these negative thoughts you've created in your head about certain things just disappear. Life is too short to care about stupid shit that doesn't bother you. You need to just do what you enjoy(even if it's not smoking weed), and trying not to become bitter.

When you're in high school, the only thing that really matters is what your peers are doing, what you think of them, and what they think of you. Once you get into college, you'll realize that none of that matters.

I'm not even talking about drugs at this point. I'm just talking about your perspective on life, on everything around you. It will completely change, and if you end up trying and liking drugs(which are relatively harmless), you can't beat yourself up or think you're a loser.
