My old school RF punch 800a2 decided it no longer likes sending signal out to my sub, so its time for a replacement. I am looking for an economical replacement for it, similar or slightly higher output. Thanks ahead of time for suggestions.

Those old school punch amps are awesome. I rocked a 250a2 for years and it was sooooolid. Sorry about the passing of yours. What were you pushing with it?

a single alpine type r 10" 4 ohm DVC run parrallel to take it to 2 ohm. this was in a custom made vented box. that son of a gun hit HARD. I called it Napoleon. It was a 10" that thought it was much bigger.

awesome suggestion, unfortunately its too much money. I have less than 1 months to get this car on the road for my son's 16th birthday, and trying to get it all setup. Unfortunately I still need to finish up body work, get tires, and an exhaust as well as finish off the stereo setup. Soooo my budget is about $150-ish for the amp. Thank you, and I would LOOOOVE to hookup a sundown amp in this little Prelude!

you won't find anything new for $150 that will come close to what that RF did. your best bet is to find another RF amp used if you want the same level of performance on a budget. look in the classifieds.

the 800a2 doesn't want to see a 2 ohm bridged load. your next amp should be a monoblock amp.
