I can somewhat agree with this, but if you compare it to the number of people who DON'T build their own woofers, your looking at a very big number verses a very very small number.

I fail to see why this is relevant to the topic of this thread.

Thanks. I've decided to go a different direction and go through psi for a complete kit including custom recone & basket with gasket. But if you have any suggestions I'm open to any and all

im in the same boat as you.i have a 9515d one side is gone its a dual 2.i called dd and they told me 130 for the recone so ima go that option.if you go with psi why not just buy one of there woofers instead.im sure you can find a basket on here for cheap and get a dd recone and do it yourself.why own a dd if you dont have dd money to fix it thats all im saying.

When did DD stop selling recones to customers?? I have heard of them asking for proof that you do own a DD driver before they would sell it to you due to people using there recones on different manf drivers and there not cool with that. Also, if your local dealer is wanting $300 just to recone your DD back to stock form I would contact DD and inform them of this as I am sure Kevin and company do not want DD's image hurt by there dealers price gouging.

I live in hawaii & the nearest shop is on Oahu and I live on Kauai they want to charge me 300 for it to be put back to stock 3515d an to make it a 18 would guarantee be over 400& dd no longer sells their recones to anyone you have to be a dealer to get them. So I'll take this approach and see what becomes of this sub.

because you need to call DD prove you have the motor show knowledge you can recone a sub and they will send you a recone

i called DD for my 9515g recone sent them an email with my name and the pic of sub motor and they sent me the drop in and i reconed the sub after i ordered the glues from PSI first time ever doing business with them too
