lol, why not? The only thing the i7 has over the i5 is HT. You dont need HT for games, period. Now for photo editing and video editing it would help a bit but thats not the main focus of this setup.

In december i will start rebuilding...gonna go with an amd fx8150 to start and try to get either a 580gtx or 6990 just go with 8gigs of ram and a few ssd's

Not a fan of the enormous case, but that is a BEAST of a set-up, almost twice as much processing speed, and 8 times the ram haha. I'm jelly. I'm an AMD guy though

It only gets old if you let it. I've been using my PC I built 6 years ago with no problems still. Works fine, a little sluggish. Yes, new stuff comes out constantly, but that doesn't mean it all stops functioning or suddenly *****.
