Have installed about 5-7 h/u in my 2002 Maxima so far and all has had really poor fm radio reception. Only one that has been great is my Pioneer avh3200dvd. Anyways, the reception has always had lots of static and most of the time,no signals at all. This morning I turned on my h/u(jvc kd-sh1000) and the reception was crystal clear. Thats a first. I hardly listen to the fm radio but it would be nice to have when i do have a desire to use it. Any kind of signal booster or anything i can get to fix this issue?

Check out your antenna cable where it plugs into the head unit and at the base of your factory antenna. You want to make sure it's not green and/or crushed, loose, bare wires showing, etc. Metra Antennaworks has a lot of antennas to choose from. Some of them use a 12V power source to amplify the signal, but that's usually on the ones that attach to your window. If you have crappy reception now adding a booster is not going to make it better. You need a good antenna.

How big's your system? I once knew a guy who's radio went to complete static when he powered up his 4 15s. They were Type Rs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
