That's funny, my LAST day at Best Buy was last Thursday. I was in car audio. If I had to guess they started you at below 9 bucks/hr? You northerners get paid more than us down here though . . . It's a good job if you have no aspirations for moving up. There's a lot of gayness you'll run into, ie the morning meetings with the "icebreakers" and a bunch of unnecessary tasks that are made harder than need be. I wouldn't expect much in the way of raises. Also, if you're part time, I know my district was feeding us all the line that we don't have the budgets for a lot of labor, so you'll probably be lucky to get 2-3 days/week. The 90 day review isn't much of an increase, MAYBE 25 cents. If you're lucky you'll get (max)6% after a year. The company's going through a lot of changes, which you'll probably find that they know where they want to go, but they have absolutely no idea how to get there. They like to pretend that it completely changes the scope of your job and the world itself, but it's the same **** job after all's said and done. But good luck, I liked it for the better part of three years, but the company just downsized a LOT of people and a lot of people got f'ed in the process, and there are less than half the advancement opportunities there used to be, so I got out. But like I said, good luck, if you don't like it you can at least probably find something that pays better.
