Alright so today I asked my dad if he could fiberglass because I suggested he should fiberglass a wall in the bedroom him and my moms redoing just jokin around...then I was like can you fiberglass? he goes yea I fiberglassed my bumper...so is patch work the same as doing speaker boxes and such...using the resin and the cloth? if so my dads doing my sub box! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

there really isnt much to it other than getting the ratio (resin/catalyst) correct and blotting the shit out of the cloth/carpet/fleece...its the finishing that takes alot of experience/skill.

imho, getting the rings to be perfect circles makes a huge difference in the overall outcome of the piece..you can do an awesome sanding/filling/finishing job and have a a great paint job done, but if you have some jagged looking rings it ruins it for me.

I say read up on the net, Then get your dad to help you with the basics ( mixing ratio's, wetting out techniques yada yada) . Having someone around that knows the basics can help a whole lot. Unless your dad was building boat hulls for a living ( my dad actually did //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif ) . You will both probably need to read up on frame building, and how to create baffles and such. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
