I had a CFA1000D that served me well, the only complain I have is when it gets really cold(below freezing) the amp would turn on but it only plays weird noises until it warms up.

Also that bulge on top of your two primary capacitors means the amp had a really hard life if I'm correct. My CFA1000D didn't have that bulge at all for the 3 years that I had it.

May have been counterfeit caps as well... we ran into this with caps on computer motherboards a while back. Believe it or not, hundreds of thousands of motherboards were produced with counterfeit caps, which were apparently garbage. I'm sure they sold them to industries other than motherboard manufacturing asl well.

How much could they save by using a crap, fake cap labled as a better quality one? Not much I'd venture!
