I have never clamped so I may now be 100% right on this, but....

if you are going to clamp to find max output don't you need a oscope to set the gain to right before clipping, then take your measurements and do your calculations?

What was the voltage clamped at?

It sounds to me like you clamped it wrong.

Sounds about right, do the math

2 ohm nominal, rising to 5.38 ohms 48.7/9.04, thats just under 3x rise.

48.7 x 9.04 = 440.2 wrms

I'm guessing this amp is rated for somewhere between 500 and 600 at 4 ohms

edit: its rated for 600 at 4 ohms, which seems very plausible given the results here.

ok the one i used to have on the pair of sa-15's i used to have did this. my friend has a clamp meter and after rise of about 2.2something, the amp did like a little over 1k. granted how my frontier's electrical is it was at 13.5 volts. so take it for what it's worth

OK i rewired my speakers to .5ohm. gain to about 55-60%. bass boost to 0%. remote boost to 15%. 40hz got 22.2 and 34.9 = 774 wrms box rise to 1.57 does that look right???? Oh yeah the reason why the gain is sit two 55-60% I guess 1500 watts at 1.35 ohm's times those numbers I got 2025 then √ 2025 = 45 and that's how I set my amp to does that look right
