i installed the brahma powered by a dd m1a (1200w rms) in 3.77 cubes @32hz and it doesnt seem right, it sounds great but the lows are pretty quiet but around 38-40hz it really gets loud.

i think the problem is either the cheapo head unit Alpine idax200 (2v preouts and no eq adjustments other than bass and treble), or the box isnt tuned to 32hz like the guy said it was. i have to turn my hu to 19 out of 22 to get it to pound, loud off, sub+15 of 15, gain at 3/4 (which should be 2.2v)bass boost at zero. it almost sounds like a ssf is set too high but its set at 10hz for the time being so i could rule that out. the clipping light on the bass knob only faintly blinks every once in a while at around 20 out of 22

if i put my ipod in my truck with my aq system, my sub hits the lows very well, so i know its not the ipod eq (always set to flat) or crappy mp3 recordings. my guess is this deck just doesnt like low bass if thats possible. i dont have a different single din head unit to try. anyone else tried a idax200?

Seems you anwsered your own question, lol!

Probably the deck or the box.............shouldn't ever max out your bass....even on the deck.

I have used many 2volt decks and always got loud. Might have to turn up a little more at the amps, but not much.

Might be the box.

bass is at zero of -6 to +6 im talking about sw level set to max, and it gets plently loud but not on low bass,

and yes its a 15"

is there some sort of subsonic filter in use now? what size port are you using and how long is it?can also try changing the phase of the sub.
yes its set to ~25, i didnt make the box, the guy i bought the sub from had built it for the brahma. ill try switching the phase thanks
