also did the big 3 upgrade and installed a 125amp alternator from a 96 nissan quest 3.0L big 3 wires and amp wiring kit on my truck here's number 1 and 2 of the big 3. this is the battery negative to chassis and engine block to chassis. major size difference. i used 1/0 welding cable for these. i drilled a hole in the inner fender and ran a bolt thru and secured the 2 cables with a lock washer and nut. this will have to be relocated when i bag the front b/c the fenders have to be cut out. but it will work for now. here's the 3rd of the big 3. batter positive to alternator. and here it is connected to the new alternator... this 3-phase project turned out great. (box build/system install, big 3 upgrade, new alternator install). the system is quite loud and sounds very clean. i have the subs wired at 1ohm so i have to be careful with the volume knob. it sounds very nice. i got the alternator tested at advance auto parts 1 week after installation. 14.12v at idle and 14.05v under load. also, absolutely zero headlight flickering when the system hits. next up is gettting crossovers and amplifying the door speakers. i already have the amp, just gotta get the crossovers. then comes sound deadening. all input/opinions are welcome
