MTX Thunder 502 amp for 2 MTX Thunder 8000 subs?

Hi everyone, I have a quick question for anyone who can answer it. I'm thinking about buying two MTX Thunder 8000 subwoofers and a MTX Thunder 502 amplifer. The subs can handle 400 watts RMS each and the amp can put out 250 x 2 @4 Ohms. Will this be enough to push those subs decently until I can get another amp?

No,the subs don't match the amp.You do have a good subs and amp.the problem is your subs are 4 ohm and the amp 150x2 @ 4ohms and 250x2 @ 2ohms and bridge 500x1 @ 4ohms.You see you can't get power you want because of the subs.You have three choices buy anonther 502 put one each sub.2)change subs 3)change amp.Don't bridge both sub into the amp .You will fry the subs or the amp.

Here is what you do, buy a 421D MTX amp, it is smaller more powerful and is Class D. It will easily power those subs, I have one powering much more potent Audiobahns. Just make sure it gets the juice. Mine has a 1 farad Cap so it has basically no power drop. As do my other 2 audiobahns powered by MTX class D amps. The 421D is already running at 2ohms (wired parallel internally) and comes with two hookups for two subs!
