any opinions on this sub? i can get it at cost so i was just gonna see if this is a good sub in comparison to the w7 or rockford t2? anyone think i should get something else?

the 9500 series from mtx is incredibly loud with amazing sq. comparable, if not better than, a w7. many tests have been done with the two, and some go one way, others go another. if you can get the 9500 series at cost, GET IT!

W7 has the edge in SQ. The 9500 is more geared toward SPL then SQ

its an SPL sub,if any of you guys think a 9500 sounds good you need your ears checked.....

For SQ or SQL its awful....and although I am not a fan of JL W7s,a W7 will

kill a 9500 for realistic sounding bass

Most of MTX subs have overexagerated bass output that is far from natural sounding

i was going to use the mtx 81001 amp which is 500 @ 4, 1000@2 and 1500 @ 1....

that is the amp they say to use with it and im going to build the box they say to build. im going to do the ported box. and no i cant get any other deals lol.....im getting lucky i can do it myself, but my uncle can get it for me

Ive had two 9500 15's in my jeep, and they didnt last too long.

IMO for MTX's highest consumer sub, they have the cheapest design ive ever seen in a cone. The plastic cone is very thing, and the below pic was taken after only a few burps......not one sub, but BOTH subs cracked. I was hesitant to use MTX products in the first place, and im sure am never going to buy them ever again now.
