i currently have a jl 500/1 running 3 12", but last night while cleaning the garage i stumbled upon an old favorite of mine--MTX RT2400, now i looked up the old ratings and found that at 4ohms @14.4v it should put out 750w. Now 1st dosent MXT underrate their amps? 2nd does anyone here think the mxt will put out more power than the jl? and 3rd if so does anyone know if its possible or should i say how can the RT2400 can be modded to run at 1ohm??

thanks and sorry for the long thread

Was that a bench test paper you found the rating on?

They were solid amps - only rated for 400 x 1 bridged @ 4ohm @ 12.5v, but from what I can remember, they did a fair amount more.
