iirc i talked to scottie who originally owned and modded one of mine that he had in one of his crazy setups (later i had them rebuilt to normal). anyways he said that with only 1v of preamp, you only need the gain half way to get full power.....now granted this was on a bit ore stable electrical. i had a decent electrical and with a 4v preouts i still needed it close to 2/3 the way up.... definitly upgrade the power wire (i noticed improvment when i did to mine), and slap on a 100amp fuse......MTX say thos things will do 150amps full tilt. i did 140.1dB off a xxx15 with a single 1501d, 4awg wire and 2 red tops, i know you can get morepower out of that amp.....something isnt making since, keep workin on it as far as clipping it, these amp have a compression circuit which is turned on or off by taking a paperclip (or something of that sorts) and pokin into that little hole on the side of the amp (forgot which side)... with it clicked in its ON, clicked out its OFF.....with this on you will never clip, the amp will internally do what it needs to do to keep you from clipping take that dmm and get that gain up, keep the bass EQ (bass boost ont he amp) down, and try turning ur bass preout up on the HU this amp has much potential, just needs things set right for it to perform, but it will
