Moving to SQ...updating everything. Advice?

I would suggest Eclipse cd 7200- Hertz mlk 165-Arc ks 300.4-Arc ks 1000.1-Idmax d4 12". Something similiar to my setup, it would give you a little spl, which I'm sure you would still enjoy having and a lot of sound quality for the money.

soundstream Reference series amps... the 740.2 is enought to drive any component set bridged or you can use its xovers and bandpass a midrange with C and D channels and A and B drive some nice highend tweeters.. the reference 1000D is prety efficient and has extremely high DF SN and slew rate... althoguth i doubt you hear a huge difference @1kw, its a very clean amp and does over rated power...

as for a woofer i highly suggest you look at Acoustic elegance AV woofers.. extremely linear motors strong cones and a excellent design.. 4 cubes tuned to 32 with 60in^2 of port area will give you good lowend and still be loud off 1kw.. grab the H not the X...

h/u ethier alpine eclipse or kenwood excelon... ethier of there highend H/Us will work excellent.. i like pioneer but for a SQ install those 3 are def better...

comps look into DLS,dynaudio,CDT,hertz, focal, pioneer, alpine, boston acoustics,ID.. personally im going to go with some CDT ES-07 midranges and the DRT26 alum tweeters... i have the CL-fg set with the tw25s and its a decent set for the money..

also if you want to save on weight as well as have a stiffer stronger box, use oak or birch plywood.. MDF is dense, but easly flexes... with birtch you can get away with a single 3/4 layer with a bit of bracing and its going to weight about 1/2 what a properly built MDF will weight...

ok here ya go... alpine F#1 990 with the controler unit ...then depending if u want to run 3wayzapco DC1100.4 for the midbass, zapco DC1100.4 for mid and tweet and a DC 1000.1 for the sub... ID max would be a good choice for sub ... then maybe the dyn estotech 3way for the front

all in all u should be just shy of $10k
wow what a waste of money... the h/us i mentioned are PLENTY, not to mention a good amp with active BP nad HP xovers preperly setup are going to sound everybit as good.. the most crutical factors is placment of speakers and putting them in the correct aligment..

SQ companies make you think you have to spend a ton to get top notch quatitly, truth is for about 2k you cna have one sick system

mids/tweeters without the xovers 499

kenwood

right @ 2k for some of the best equipment.. gains properly set your not going to notice a difference. the only difference will be largerly in the speakers you choose..

both the AV and CDT speakers use faraday rings and are excellent in build quatitly.. not to mention for the money its hard to find better IF you can...

im baised thought, my system is going to consist of

2 AE AV 15s

2 RD audio 1750s(wanting a single 3-4kw amp)

CDT ES-07 mids ported

CDT DRT26 alum tweeters

ss ref 740.4 bandpassed on the mids and tweeters HPed..

ethier eclipse or kenwood decks..

barely over 2K and its easily capable of sounding excellent..

I have the Morel Hybrid Ovation 6's in my doors with the hi-freqs mounted forward of the door handles tilted slightly inward running off the RF Power 1000 5channel with BA SL80's on the rear deck. I filter the BA's out almost completely! The Morels are sooooo f-in beautiful... I've had the BA pro series and there's no comparison. I'm in LOVE with my Morels.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've also talked my co-worker into the dotech ovations and those are just as awesome. The SQ is amazing. We've run some demos and you can pick every little nuance out. The morels blow my mind. We must protect Israel, We must protect Israel lol.
