So, my 02 nissan sentra spec-v started to get a little bit of a mis-fire in it when i first started up. it's got worse today with it finally pulling a code, being mis-fire cyl #4. so, seeing how i have 91k on this car, first thing that comes to mind is a tuneup. start to pull plugs out, and #2 is all but stuck in there. much tighter than the others, and as i try to loosen it, it started to make some odd noises. witch after hearing that, i stopped before doing any damage to the head. so, questions to you guys.

A) how best to get that bastard out without and damage to motor?

B) should i replace all the coil packs. this car has one per cyl right above the valve cover.

i'd replace the spark plugs first to see if that corrects the issue of the misfire. second when replacing don't for get to use the anti-seize when putting the new ones in. if you odd noise was a skretching sound that's normal for a spark plug that didn't have anit-seize. if it wasn't a skretching sound and more of a crackling sound, spray a small amount of penitrating lube around the plug.

yea, that's closer to what it sounds like. should i just let some WD-40 set on it for awhile then? what type of anti-seize works best for this app?

if spark plugs doesn't help then clean the throttle body. I had mis fires in my car as well. Replacing spark plugs didn't help so then I cleaned a throttle body and now its running like a champ

WD-40 would probably work, I personally use Liquid Wrench (yellow can). any anti-seize would work. usually the autozone guy will try to sell it to you when you get your sparkplugs. most ppl don't buy it but it's well worth it.

Very good stuff their. Its like having a impact gun on the bolt nut the eniter night.

Another trick is to. Put it all together warm the motor up for a bit. Then spary that stuff on there then. It will like **** the liquid into the threads. Helped me in the past.

i was thinking that at first, till i saw that it was only one cyl doing the mis-fire. i'm going to start soaking it tonight when i get home, and try it in afternoon tomarrow after i get the plugs.
