MK1 15" Brahma vs. New Mag 15"d2

I searched and could find no direct comparison of these 2 woofers ..... The Brahma was the last woofer I owned the last go round in this audio game I seem to keep coming back to ....

So.... could someone here that has heard both please compare .... I give it credit the Brahma was D@MN LOUD and D@MN Clean ..... I loved it but with a kid on the way I was forced to sell it along with the 1600 rms I had driving it .... so my question is .... Will the new Mags get @ least as LOUD and be as CLEAN as the Brahma MK1's with roughly the same amount of power....

Thanks for your help and I will update you guys on my decisions as I make them and keep you posted with updates as the system unfolds ....

I know the install will play lot in this woofer vs. woofer comparison ... for sake of argument let's say 2.75 ft^3 sealed with 1500 rms .... stuffed with 3lbs of polyfill

Yes it will be as loud and as clean. Jacob had a first or second generation B15 and switched to 3 older Mag 12's. Jacob has experience with our new 15's so maybe he could chime in on here and give his two cents worth.

But anyway, as loud and as clean, no doubt.

i wouldnt buy any new drivers from adire though. 50% failure rate is very bad.

That was the reason I wondered about the mags ... the failure rate out of Adire right now is out of this world and they can't handle the power they used to handle either ...

I have never owned a Brahma, however I did own a 03 12XXX and an 05 15XXX (which from what I understand are very similar to the Brahma) and a 13W7 (along with some other nice SQL subs). I just sold my 15" mag due to space issues in my jeep. It was the best sub I have ever owned period. The 15XXX was close as was my 13W7 however to me the Mag was easily better. Never had it metered but it was LOUD, however the SQ of it was what impressed me. Very responsive and very very clean. I would reccomend it to anyone, I liked it so much I ordered a 10" SI BM for my new install. I just trust the SI product...

well considering my Mag 15 is louder(to the ear) than my friends xxx 15 off approximately the same watts, and the xxx 15 is the same as the brahma extreme 15, i would say si mag ftw.

the older model mag was a fair bit louder than the older model brahma.. but the brahma retained an edge sound wise..

I haven't evaluated a new brahma... but the new mag pwnts the old mag...

the new Mag is better. One of my friends had an older Brahma, not sure if it was the MKI or MKII but it was definitely not up to par with the new Mag. Mag is very tight and a low end killer. I barely have my gains up and no bass boost and my Mag is loudest in the 35-47range. I've actually had to turn down my gain to less than 10% for it to blend better with my 3way setup up front.
