MJ18's + eD 9.5?

This many.
I've got a pair of Seas H1396 4 ohm tweeters and a pair of Dayton RS-180-4 speakers. They will be run actively off a Pioneer 880PRS. I am planning on getting 2 MJ-18's from Mach5 and putting them in a '99 Blazer 2 door in a 9 cubic foot box (after displacement) tuned to 30Hz. Because of a limited budget, an eD nine.5 will be the source of power to the drivers listed above. Would you guys make any changes here? Comments, suggestions?

Yeah... yeah... I know... eD... Bleh.

nothin wrong with ed's product last time i checked, just service, but 2 18's off of 600 watts? Maybe the mach5's are really efficient, i dont knwo much about them but that doesn't sound like enough

The nine.5 is underrated and I've heard from Ben that people are running pairs of 13Ov.2's (900Wrms) off the nine.5. It's rated at 12.5V, so 2 MJ-18's (600Wrms each)... dunno...

Decisions, decisions...

I dunno if I should trust Ben on this.

Im sure itd be fine...

even if it does just rated power, and nothing more.

Its not like these have a super stiff suspension or anything..

sounds like a nice setup on a budget

I'm down with it. At a sale price of $350 the Ed 9.5 is a good choice. The MJs should move plenty on that much power. You can run active by using the Eds onboard XOs and call it a day. Nice, simple and streamlined.

Great response! What are the differences between the eD Nine.5's onboard crossover and the 880PRS's crossovers? I'm thinking that the 880's crossovers would have more flexibility than the Nine.5's.

def more flexibility with the h/us crossovers, plus you can adjust them easier, and more accurately, as far as i know (Ive never owner an 880, but read a shit ton of info on them)

yeah, use the 880 and set the amps crossover an octave below whatever you are setting the 880 at (or above on highpass sections)

This is how i have mine setup now and it sounds perfecto!!
