I've hated UConn my entire life, so there would never be a situation where I would like him. He also seems to come off as smug, it seems everytime I hear him talking about a loss he never gives the opposing team any credit. I specifically remember when the Cavs beat them last year and he and Billups played like shit, he said some nonsense like the Cavs didn't play well and were lucky to catch them on an "off-night." I think that was the game where Billups had 8 TO's. I've only heard him be gracious in defeat after the Finals last year, and even then it didn't sound particularly honest. He's had a real quiet sense of self-righetousness since that gamewinner in '99.
But personal biases aside, I hate the type of game he plays. He's like a cross between John Stockton and Reggie Miller. He plays dirty but does it in really subtle ways like Stockton did. Most people don't criticize him for it, just like no one did for Stockton, but it's one of the primary reasons he's able to "move so good without the ball" which every analyst says is his best asset. He reminds me of Reggie in that a lot of his scoring comes from a quick catch and shoot following a screen at the top of the key or off of quick ball rotation to the weakside. Although he has gotten a little more versatile in recent years. But make no mistakes about it, the main reason I hate him is for personal reasons.
