I have just recently began putting together stereo system for my GMC Sierra.. Currently I have a pioneer head unit with crossover capability, digital designs VO6.5 in the front doors and a pair of massive audio CT2 tweeters..I intend on getting an Amp for the mids and highs and running them active. Until then Im just running them off the HU and have the midrange high passed and the tweeters are using the passive crossover they came with. I can't bandpass the midrange until I get the Amp and run the HU in Network mode. My question is tho, am I risking damaging the 6.5s without low passing them and letting them play into the higher frequencies. Tbh it currently sounds really good at the moment and if I could save the amp for the mids and highs and get a sub and amp in the meantime I would rather do that.
