Michael Vick Fails To Inspire Team With Dogfighting Story

There are many laws that govern hunting...

i am not saying that its illegal to hunt. but as a person. what make a hunter that sits and wait for a deer to shoot them dead any different from vick killing dogs. I am not speaking about the law. I am more talking about the principle. why is a hunter able to kill inocent animals and get payed and noticed for it and vick (or any dog fighter) gets jail time and his name sh*ted on?

whats the purpose of hunting? to be honest, I never knew there was a purpose for hunting.

Food, sport, culture, etc. Believe it or not, there are people in this country that rely on hunting in order to feed their families. Also, hunting can be a cultural thing. Hunting is a way of life for many people in rural areas, and to take that away from them or argue against it is ignorant.

Of coarse there are poachers who kill animals for no good reason at all, and those people are no better than Mike Vick. But the overwhelming majority of hunters and fisherman kill for a purpose. Also, hunting keeps the numbers of certain animals in check. For example, if deer hunting were outlawed, the deer population would explode. This would lead to much starvation and more deer being killed on highways.

I should probably re-phrase my "educate yourself" statement, so here goes; Please educate yourself to the specifics of a topic before you start a debate. Is that better?

First of all, I didn't quote you or mention anything about the legality of hunting. Secondly, killing an unsuspecting deer with a broad head through the heart or bullet from a high powered .7mm rifle is a hell of a lot different than hanging or drowning a dog. Surely you can see that...

I actually heard that they kill animals to keep the population at a certain rate (with wild pigs.. have to love animal planet) and I do understand that some people still hunt or fish to eat. But what about the ppl that hunt for fun? just to keep their heads as trophies. I just dont see the fairness in some ways.

Hunting is a sport, and it's human nature on a deep & primordial level. There are cultures in many countries that still cultivate or kill everything they eat. They've been doing so since the dawn of mankind.

And fyi, most people that sport hunt still eat or gift the meat they kill...

Not in America.

Anyways dog fighting is inhumane. Shooting a deer in the head is instant death and those that are shitty hunters and make the animal suffer should have the same fate brought upon them. If you really cant see the difference than I really dont know how else to explain it to you.

You're wrong, and you've already resorted to stupid "what-if" scenarios to justify your point of view. You're going to take an anti-hunting standpoint no matter what facts are provided, because that's your personal opinion. Let's just stop this discussion, okay?
