mic for vidioing bass demos ?

hello,

just picked up a new canon vixia hf r400 hd camcorder.

and trying to find a mic that will pick up bass .

anybody know of some?

i have googled and done a lot of searching and cant find one under 200 .

and im on a budget.. at lest for now.

i did find one but will take some time to save for it. but need something for now.

Check parts express. I don't think any will handle a lot of bass

i checked with them. they dont sell what i need. only mics for analyzing audio.

i order this as its the closes i can find for the price i cans spend for now.

this is what im going to get this down the road..

and even that will only go up to 134db lowest is 40hz .

and have read a lot of reviews and the rode is a god mic. same with the one i ordered.

so we will see..

o 1 more thing i did find another one that will do 20hz to 20khz and not sure on db but is was like $600 ..

and it was a hand held type.. so not what i want.

I just use my phone.. iPhone and videos come out great.

but i dont have an iphone.

so im not sure if mine is any good.

but did you just have your phone in your pocket and then you merged it with your vid ?

i have a samsung sm-s920l

its not the best .

and not sure how good the mic is, but will give it a try.

also ordered a led camera light. for then night time demos..lol

with a good mic you can actually hear proper bass frequencies in the recording so if you listen from your home theater, headphones or anything else, you'll hear accurate demos.

i was thinking you were using the phone for the mic. as i have seen that dont before.

ok guys, heres a update.

i got the mic in today and so far i really like it.

has good features and sound good for a $35 mic.

ill get a vid up with and without the mic on.

but here's a vid that does show what it sounds like.

i had planed on getting the rode pro but i dont know. well see .

and ill post up some pics of my setup so far. im still waiting on a 36led light .

im also going to get a 160led light . and a tripod for it.

I have a few sm57's and sm58's which are old school general purpose recording mics. But I've never tried recording a really loud system with it but I would suppose they could do very well. Mic'ing guitar amps and bass rigs and drums closely produce a pretty loud spl but not in the range of some of these 150+ systems.
