.....is pretty damn good. i'm a little late since it's been out for a while. the song, "all nightmare long", is really fvckin good. i'm in my 30's, so i'm one of those who think the last good album done by them, was in justice for all. they recorded it old school, meaning all of them were actually playing the song together live while recording, which is a feat in itself. lars and kirk aren't getting any worse in their old age. probably one of the best drummer/guitar player combos around. thought i'd share my new found respect for my once favorite band.

Glad you like. But keep in mind, there are a lot of Metallica haters on this boars. So don't expect people to agree with you a lot here (not saying they are right or wrong).

I, in fact, enjoyed the new album as well.

i was a metallica hater after the "load" album. i gave them the benefit of the doubt for years, but gave up after that album. it was only a matter of time before they came out with something really good.

Even the GH3 mix is a steaming pile of compression...and the retail version is simply unlistenable.
i downloaded it, and it sounds fine on my cheap garage stereo. haven't listened to it yet in my truck or in the living room. meh, i like it. it matters not what others think.

And people don't seem to realize that bands evolve over time, especially when they have been around for that long.

Hence why I can't stand AC DC, they just sound like an older and tired version of their old stuff, which is boring as hell.

We all know this and have all discussed it too much already...
We're talking about the music itself, not the production value (which does seem to be Metallica's issue for all their albums...)
it sounds fine on my crappy homemade garage stereo. i'm sure it will sound fine in my truck as well. they also recorded this album live in studio, which if you listen to some of lars and kirk's stuff on this album, impresses me. for kirk to do some of those riffs all the way through a song without stopping, makes my guitar penis shrink quite a bit. there might be 10 metal guitar players in the world who could do it.

I agree. I like how they went about recording this album. And I like the style they went with it. St. Anger can like my balls //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Made me lmao.

Anyways, i very much so enjoy the new album. Unforgiven III was very different, but the more i listened to it the more i liked it. I enjoy "End of the Line" the middle aside is awesome.

all nightmare long, was the song that turned my head a little. just thinking about playing that song all the way through, without stopping, makes my hands hurt. i wonder how many takes they did, before they got all the way through it without making big mistakes. these songs aren't songs they've performed live for years, so for all of them to play it live in studio while recording is unreal to me. bands haven't done that for years, and the ones who did, never played anything as fast, or as complex as they did on this album.
