I put my old 12" sub box on CL today and met this dude to sell it and he had a green mustang...to make a long story short, he was telling me how loud his system was and that you can't even sit in the car
, so i ask to see his stuff and he opens the trunk and he has 2 compvr 12's in a box that has rope wrapped around it, tied to his 6x9's (to keep it from moving around he says...) i look at his sub box and theres a HUGE hole in the side. i ask him what that is....he says he got bored and wanted to "port" his box. I honestly thought he had a terminal cup there that fell out... when i asked him what amp he was powering them with he tells me he "had" a Pioneer 5000 watt amp. He goes on to tell me that he was running this 2 channel amp to power both dual 4 ohm subs and 4 speakers in the car. get to the point i say, wheres the amp now? He said it got so hot while it was playing that he literally ripped the wires out and threw the amp on his driveway because it was so HOT he didnt want to catch his car on fire. You couldnt even touch it he says ...he was going to let it cool off in his driveway until the morning and he woke up and it was gone.
