Mercury Mariner - 12" sub suggestion?

So...been out of the scene for some time.

I previously had a Cadence z1000 running 2 JL 10w6's in the JL Powerwedge box. Loved it. Now I have a Mercury Mariner.

I know many of you will laugh, but I'm not wanting to invest the time or the money on comps, so I'm running 2 sets of Pioneer 6x8's (speaker in each door) off a Pioneer HU.

That Cadence is still pretty inexpensive (refurbed, but my last Cadence refurb lasted 4 years). I want to actually build a sealed box this time around for 1 decent 12" sub. I'm looking to spend up to about $200.

I mainly listen to metal and hip-hop, so I need something that will be versatile. Not terribly concerned about waking the neighbors, just want to add some quality sounding bass to my setup.

I remember 4 or 5 years ago really liking the Eclipse Titanium subs. Are those any good these days?

Yes they are still good, especially for what your looking for.

get a used 10 off of ebay. they hit like a 12
more like 15's i've heard....

but seriously if you need a good 12 that hits low and gets some nasty bass ...i have a brand new in the box funky pup 12 ....i may part with if the price is right...if you've searched the threads you'll find out that the pups are the way to go....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You sound like your serious about buying your subs, so i'll just tell you that everyone here is ****ing with you.

The funky pup is a joke, and the w7 is overpriced but nikolas jt is on it's nuts. So on a serious note, look at the Fi Q. Other good ones in that price range would be something like an RE SE, Incriminator LI, or DC lvl 3.

I am serious about it! How does a JL 12W3V3-2 rate? I loved my old JL 10w6's. The JL I mentioned is a 2ohm sub, so I can feed it the 500watts from the Cadence in my original post, which is the max RMS JL specs it for.

How does the 12W3V3-2 compare to an FI Q or the DC you mentioned?

You honestly can't really compare them. Yes, iv'e heard both.

The Q is just MUCH more of a sub than a w3, designed for different things. It can handle much more power (some feed it aroudn 1500, but 1000 is good for it) and will obviosly be alot louder.

Thanks for being supportive and actually knowing what you're talking about! In looking a bit at how people have their FI q's setup, seems to be a lot of ported enclosures. I was looking to do a sealed box. Will the Q perform ok sealed? Or should I look elsewhere?

Also, where in the hell can I even price one out!?!
