I dont have much anymore.. Just 2 DC lvl 3 12s run off a memphis mc1000d, but Im gonna go win another trophy anyways //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So MECA classes you by fuse rating.. Im not familiar with what or how they do it so any pointers would help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Last time they put me in street 2, but I wanted my car running so I went up to SS2, and took 2nd with a 144.6.. I was beat by a 98 eclipse with 2 solo X 12s and 2500 rms.. Soooo he was in my class how?

He was most likely able to hold a smaller fuse by keeping his car running. His fuse was most likely smaller than it shouldve been but he kept his voltage up so the fuse held. MECA is easy if you can keep your voltage up and run a smaller fuse.

Please elaborate.
I know you are waiting to try to grill me on something but ill bite and if i am wrong then by all means, educate me.

If you can keep a higher voltage you can make a fuse handle more than its rated load for a little bit, thats been the general consensus on here, its worked for me. I cant remember if MECA has a batt rule because ive always used standard cab trucks with only 1 batt. And by keeping his car running in that class his alt was still running so he couldve been keeping his voltage up based on that fact alone. Or i guess a judge couldve messed up and put him in the wrong class. Who knows ?

If I wanted to run my mmats 4000.1 hd with a 4 ohm load which david from mmats said would make the amp 95% efficient, what size fuse should I run? I want to stay between as1 and as2. I am running a treo ssx 12'' for the sub.

I'm really not waiting to grill you. I am just beginning to compete and was looking for some tips. After you got your mod I stopped "grilling" you because that just wouldn't be smart now would it? I could come up with an argument based on theory but I wouldn't be sure I was right in this case.

OP the fuse game just takes time and some play. Find where your setup is loudest at (gain, volume on HU, etc). then just keep using lower and lower fuses until one doesn't hold for 5 seconds. Having strong voltage really helps this. I was burping 4600wrms with an 80amp fuse wednesday to see if i could be eligible for s2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

with 2 12's you can either try s1 with a 30A fuse, s2 with no larger than 70amps of fusing, or any of the larger classes, but you can probably get into s1 if you have batts and stuff

I have 1 12'' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but I think hopefully I can get into as1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I have 1 kenetik 2400 and my stock bat up front //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Hope your not shooting for world finals, because there are some local boys here in louisville that can pull close to a 150 out of their butt in as2

oh, and don't run ANL fuses, run midi's with stamped current limits on them or they're not legal.
