MDF or Fiberglass Base?

so im getting a fibergalss box made rite now as we speak, the box will be custom molded to the sides of my trunk, but here is my question, does ti matter if the bottom of the box is MDF or fiberglass?....will it make a difference either way and if so what?
thanks
If the bottom can be made out of MDF then that would be a good route to go. In fact any side that can be should be IMO. It won't do anything to the sound. It just makes the build faster and easier. it will also be a little cheaper, because fiberglassing cost good money.

well i no that but the guy that is doing it 4 me told me that there would be no price difference...so with time adn money aside...is there any SOUND QUALITY differences
I stated that as well. To my knowledge as long as the proper precautions and procedures for either method are taken, then no difference should be audible in sound.

large flat areas are stronger when made with wood versus glass, its eaiser to do, but you will hear any difference if it is properly done.

if the guy is making it for you - why should he be asking you how to make the enclosure? i would be kinda iffy if he asked me... he should know what he is doing.

Use MDF if airspace is not an issue. If you need all the volume necessary, use fiberglass. Sound quality will not be an issue. You will not have a lot of flex if built properly and the fiberglass panel is supported by the floor any ways.
