I get 97" x 49" sheets of 3/4" MDF for $25 a sheet.

Well, you said 2 units of 5'x9' sheets. I don't know how big a unit is. I'm assuming one unit = one sheet.

BTW 1/2" MDF flexes like MAD. I have a dual chambered enclosure I built for my subs, .75 cuft / sub, made out of 1/2" MDF. It definitely has some nice flex on it.

I only use 1/2" for door plates or small amp rack's. Not enclosures, well maybe for 8" woofers:wow:

How many sheets = a unit?

who cares if its 1/2" if you get it cheap enough that you could tripple up everywhere and still pay less than 3/8" costs

that was my first thought, but i was waiting on op to respond.. i wanted to know if he was really planning on making boxes out of 1/2"

Why I would build boxes out of 1/2 inch is because of the price. That cheap I'll just double them up to 1 inch. 1 inch is plenty strong.

I think a unit has about 50 sheets iirc so for 1 dollar a sheet I think it's a good score.

Rashaddd.

It's from a place that gets the mdf as cover sheets, Protecting other shipments. So they don't have it as inventory and are tired of storing it.

Some of the corners have dings etc. But it is 5 feet by 9 so it's still good even if I have to nip a little here and there.
