I just came across a set of of old 5.1 home theatre speakers. They are MbQuart QL "C" series.

Anybody have any exp with these. There are 3 sets of 6.5's and 1 set of 5.25's and 5 tweeters. I thought I would replace the Opti's (in sig below) I am running in the kicks and doors with them. I am running active.

Any thoughts?

Think I will swap them out tomorrow. Was curious if these were related to the Q line in car audio speakers.

Well... I tried to swap them and of course the cut-outs are too small.

The 5.25's are too deep for the kick panels but a mod should make them work. The cut-outs for the 6.5's will have to be opened up by about a xtra 1/4". I did have some 8" midbass drivers before so it shouldnt be a problem.

I did go ahead and hook the Quarts up (just sitting in the cut-outs as far as they would go) and they were not nearly as bright as the Opti's. I did not change any of the Eq or amp settings and got a different sound. Idk.
