make a mold out of cardboard?

curious can i just make a mold out of cardboard then fibreglass over that...???

I need to make a 2 sq/ft box, but would like to keep the thing light, i also want to make a custom 'plug' of the side wheel well area of my cars trunk for the sub...

If you're making a standard shape/box just make it out of mdf.
