Major overpowering of components

I have two amps right now, a Crunch V-600 that puts out 800 wRMS to my subs and a no-name amp that puts out around 200 wRMS or less.

I would like to buy a proper amp for my 2000SPL's, which can put out about 1500 wRMS to the pair. I was thinking I could use my 2 channel V-600 to put out 300 wRMS to each side for the new components I am planning to buy.

Would I be able to adjust this amp to only put out about 150 wRMS or less per side? I plan on buying a set of RE comps or a comparable set. Or would I be better off buying a new component amp and just keep 800 watts going to the subs?

i've had a c2k 6.0 on components in other installs. that is an honest 600 watts total for components.

You can set the amp's power for whatever you want under the clipping threshold.

Hey guys, I started this thread over a month ago, and would like to continue it. I now have the RE comps and a viper 1200.1 will soon be powering my subs, leaving my Crunch V-600 unused.

Right now im powering them with a shitty 100 wRMS x2 amp, I used a multimeter and set them to 80 watts a piece under a 1 khz tone. But they just dont get loud enough for me. I mean, theyre loud at almost full volume, but I hate driving around in the city with my volume at 40/50. On the highway, they just dont get as loud as id like them to. But even at full volume they sound like they can easily take on more power. How much do you guys think I can feed them without risking blowing them? I've heard people doing 150 RMS daily, and ive also heard of people blowing them with 75 watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
