I've seen many custom setups witht the sub magnet mounted outside of a sealed box. Does this actually work good? Has anyone ever tried this?
x2I like the look of the cone better than the basket myself altho some do like **** good, but id rather see the cone moving
You only have to reverse the polarity if you have one sub inverted and one sub not inverted. If you invert both subs, you don't have to reverse the polarity. You should try it both ways and see which sounds best....just like you should with a typical subwoofer install //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifbut you need to reverse the polarity of the subs.
Wow....oh well it seems like if they werent reversed then the speaker would move into the box instead of it and it wouldnt, be as loud.
Speakers don't move just one way. It's a symmetrical motion.....it moves "out" just as much as it moves "in", which means it doesn't matter which way the speaker is facing, the motion is exactly the same either way.oh well it seems like if they werent reversed then the speaker would move into the box instead of it and it wouldnt, be as loud.

you lose 1/10th of a decibal.
This is to much of a general statement to make. Normally you will loose minimal output, but once again install dependant.you lose 1/10th of a decibal.
