Alright so on another forum I heard about the "Magic 3" its

what they call upgrading the 3 wires under your hood

Im a little confused as to how you do this

If I have this straight its a 4 guage wire from the + battery terimnal to the alternator?

where on the alternator?

then you go from -battery terminal to the chassis and engine block to chassis? or -battery terminal to engine block?

what is ther purpose of all of this? also I found a good prich on a HO alternator

how hard is it to put in an alternator yourself? Im fairly mechanical so I can handle advanced stuff it doesnt seem like it would be hard to do

let me know thanks

Basically the easiest way to upgrade these wires is to just follow the factory wiring. You dont even need to take the factory wiring out, just add new wire (equal or greater than the power wire going to your amps) and use the same routing and terminal locations as the factory wire (upgraded battery terminals make this alot easier).

As long as the alternator is easily accessible there shouldn't be too much of a problem for you to change it.
