Help me with this problem guys. Would three 18" MJs sealed in 9cubes be louder than two in a 8cube@35hz enclosure both on about 2000 watts? They are both going in a trunk firing up.

the two ported would likely be louder around tuning if you have a a boost in output there, but on average the 3 should be louder sealed

also I wouldn't advise trying to run 2k to two of them daily, they get warm off of

You will have a slightly exaggerated output with two units ported, but this will result in greater output compared to three units sealed in the same size box.

Rashaddd did you ever get yours metered? You are actually the one that made me think about trying these subs in the first place. I would turn my gains WAYYY down just to see

and I just took everything out today and started my next build which is gonna be my trunk walled off with them ported out the rear deck so I'll never get to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

but I'll get this setup metered for sure...even if on sometin other than the TL..i have to.

From your vids with them sealed, when you port them into the car its got to be loud as heck. How big are you gonna make the box? Good luck homie and keep me updated

Seriously? You really think 3 sealed would be louder overall than 2 ported? I was gonna try the 2 firing back but the 3 would be firing up

The only complaint I have about my older version MJ sealed is the low end isnt great...it's there but nothing spectacular. That could be do to my setup though. It's underpowered and upfiring in a hatch. Great woofer though and I'm sure the MJM's are even better. I'm sure you'd be happy with either setup, but I'd try the 3 sealed and if that isnt what you want, do 2 ported. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I feel you but I'd hate to buy 3 and then be stuck with one left over and waste the money. Thanks for your input though, there are a lot of guys using these subs. I love my low bass so maybe two ported would be my best option
