iam thinking of getting this amp to run my two ma audio 15 inch d4s.it is .5 ohm atable and runs and 1800 watts in .5 ohm,and 1200 watts in 1ohm.my question is how power hungry are these amps.i have heard mixed things.are they good.i can get one new for 250 shipped.iam not competeing or anything just daily driver.

The 401sx will do those subs fine, just remember its an A/B amp not D, and with it you'll get some good power drainage but nothing nuts.

Prob 180-200a at most during peaks IIRC.

is that alot i have a lexus LS 400 and i have a 1.5 fred cap and 4 ga wireing,alt is stock(way way way to much for a bigger one)

I would upgrade to 1/0 with a dist block, but otherwise you should be okay, maybe slight dimming when you really hammer it. No way to know for sure until you put it all in.
