loudest 12?

I was just looking to see what the loudest 12" sub would be for my box. It is 1.8cu ft tuned to 27hz. Now I definitely want it to slam, but the cleaner the sub sounds the better obviously. I was thinking of going with a kicker solobaric, but was thinking maybe an SS RL-p or something else not mainstream might sound louder AND better. Any input would be great, thanks. Oh and I have no amp yet but I don't really want to push over like 1000rms. Thanks alot.

thats a pretty small box but aside of the fact assuming all parameters are correct the only thing that comes to mind that will do 1000Watts at 27hertz for a nice price would be an Orion n2 hardcore (((mind went blank and ****.. I cant think of the life of me the name of that subwoofer now))). Anyhow its an orion 12 that comes close to those parameters.

Note: You dont build a sub for a box in most practical customer situations. You build the box for your sub.. this said. GOOD luck finding a subwoofer to match those specs.. You would be better off building the box for whichever subwoofer you chose yourself.

If this poses difficulty , later I will give you a link to my website when i have completed programming my enclosure application using c++ . I will include port parameters and conversion output for rectangular port and if I can think of some more stuff to code into the app I'll keep you up to date if your interested.

Well I have the box already and its easier that way. What sub won't perform well with 1.8 cu ft ported? Alot of people swear by the SS RL-p and they say to port them in a 1.5-2.0 cu ft box. So mine is right in the middle. So does a RL-p sound good? Or will it not be as loud as an L7 in the same box?

SS RL-p will get loud in that enclosure since its very close to specs...and 1000wrms sounds a bit overkill...u could go 800wrms and not worry...the kicker will need a lot bigger space than 1.8 ft^3 so i would go with the SS RL-p...mike is awesome to deal with..

Well I never said 1000rms for sure, just that I wanted to keep it UNDER 1000rms. Now what will that RL-p take watts-wise? Is 800 the limit? Now will it be louder than an L7? And it sounds alot better SQ-wise than it as well? Thanks for the help.

dude, if you have the box already then how are you going to put a l7 in it?

they're square... you'd have to build a new box anyway if you wanted a square woofer

if your box is made for a square woofer, then the l7 is the clear choice obviously since the rl-P is round.

edit: just a new baffle actually, but either way it's work that you seem to rather avoid......

From what I've read I could just cut my circle out to a square and be fine. I have no problem with that, or making a new box really. But I like the size of my box and don't want to take up any more room.

i believe L7's need a lot more room to "breathe" than 1.8 cu ft. so again...i would go with the RL-p...hit up soundsplinter.com and shoot mike an email...great guy to deal with...and i don't even have any RL-p's...he'll answer all your questions...

i would go for the RL-p

A loudest sub doesn't exist.
